VIBES: JUNE 2013 heavy rotation

Things you can put on now that are slightly more interesting than clothes.

1. ‘Was Dead’ from Vermont garage rocker King Tuff  — full of fitting pop songs for long-haired summer laze-abouts.
2. A self-titled release from  the two talented brothers who  comprise the Cactus Blossoms. It is nothing new musically – so of course it is perfect.  Not bad for a show you can see every Minneapolis Monday on the regular.
3. ‘Sunbather’ from Deafhaven bombasts with death metal and shoe gaze and somehow manage to get both co-existing harmoniously together on the same record.
4. ‘Wakin on a Pretty Daze’ avoids the sophomore slump trend and instead rules way hard.
