Let’s just call a spade a spade and fess to the fact that your older sister has abandoned her blog just a bit. A notebook full of half-sketched concepts and half-written ideas was making me feel really, well, half-assed.
The blog remission ends now and creative content generation will continue in gusto.
As part of new ‘just do it’ blogging exercise regime, today I’ll be doing a quick and dirty post on…oh, I don’t know — white denim today.
No, not the four-piece Austin-based band, although I think playing ‘Street Joy’ will put you in a good n’ groovy place to better consider this more polarizing of denim fabrications.
Les jeans en blanches — their existence has accrued a shoddy reputation as being both passé and uncouth. Especially here in the midwest, where, perhaps du to the ever-annual accrual of winter weight, we shy away from confidently donning twiggy white trousers.
However, results are usually very good and non-Piggly -Wiggly when paired with crisp silhouettes and little else. Denim has humbleness and strength- when worn in white, a zen-like sophistication that is more Bauhaus than poor house happens.
The sexy high-waisted ‘Elizabeth’ in Natural has the Imogene + Willie signature wide-set pocket and a slim leg opening. If in Minnesota they can be had at Black Blue, or online at Mohawk General Store and Mill Mercantile.
